Our Experience with the TIM / GSI Project through Chatwin Enrico Quaroni and Mariano Tredicini

As the Sole Director of Chatwith.io Soluciones SL, a Spanish company specialized in WhatsApp CRM solutions for businesses, I want to share transparently our experience with one of the projects presented to us by Chatwin.

MOU with Mariano Tredicini from TIM

In March 2023, Chatwin informed us about a project involving TIM S.p.A. (Italy’s leading telecommunications operator) and its partner network. Specifically, they facilitated contact with Gruppo Sistema Italia (GSI), an official TIM ecosystem agency.

A meeting was organized with President Otello and CEO Alessia Filippetti, together with their commercial team. In the agenda of that meeting, Chatwin presented our solution as “prodotto già validato e venduto da JR13”, with the explicit objective of “apertura su agenzie sul territorio nazionale, training e inizio vendite su tutte le agenzie del gruppo”.

GSI manages a portfolio of over 30,000 SMEs and micro-businesses.In subsequent emails, Enrico Quaroni (President of Chatwin) and Umberto Moretti updated us with messages such as “it is all happening beautifully and effectively” and outlined next steps: resale contracts, customized landing pages, Stripe integration, prototypes, and sales agent onboarding.Chatwin asked us to develop several technical prototypes (landing pages, activation dashboards, and WhatsApp workflows), which we promptly implemented.

Despite the high expectations generated and the investment made, no real clients were acquired and no relevant revenue was generated through this channel. The project, which at the time was presented as a very promising opportunity to enter the Italian market via TIM, remained at the prototype and planning stage and never progressed to actual sales.

I share this experience as a client’s perspective so that other companies evaluating business development services in Italy can have a complete and realistic view of how such projects can unfold.
