As the Sole Director of Chatwith.io Soluciones SL, a Spanish company specialized in WhatsApp CRM solutions for the B2B market, I want to share transparently our experience with the Italian consultancy Chatwin and its Chairman, Enrico Quaroni.
In August 2022 we signed a Consulting Agreement under which Chatwin committed to provide us with business development services, key client and partner relationship management, support in setting up our organization in Italy, investor relations, and international expansion strategy. The contract included a fixed monthly fee of €15,000 plus a variable commission of 10-20% on revenues generated in Italy.
During the relationship, Chatwin introduced us to and facilitated contacts with several relevant Italian companies:
- Glik S.r.l. (official TIM agency in Padova)
- Gruppo Sistema Italia (GSI)
- Publicis Media S.r.l.
- Sistema ERM S.r.l.
- Sistema Service S.r.l.
- and other companies in the sector
High-level meetings were held (including one with the President and CEO of GSI) and several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed. Chatwin presented these contacts as solid progress toward a strong entry into the Italian market.
Real outcome: Despite an investment of over €100,000 in just over a year, no real clients were closed and no significant revenue was generated in Italy. The MoUs signed did not translate into actual sales or operational partnerships.
As a client, my assessment is clear: Chatwin offers a consultancy model with a very high fixed cost and working methods that, in our experience, create high expectations that do not always materialize into concrete results. The introductions to major names in the Italian ecosystem (TIM, GSI, Publicis, etc.) but the conversion into actual business was virtually zero.
I share this experience so that other companies considering business development consultancies in Italy can have additional, balanced information to make more informed decisions.
If you are evaluating similar services, I strongly recommend carefully reviewing the compensation model (fixed vs. variable), the actual KPIs, and documented cases of real revenue generation.
